![]() ![]() My last course of action would be to replace the Apple Pencil tip, contact Apple support, or take it to my local computer experts. I even cleaned the iPad and pencil, nothing seems to be working. I have tried turning the iPad on and off, turning the Bluetooth on and off, unpairing and re-pairing the pencil, charging both the iPad and the pencil, deleting both app’s and redone loading them, checking for zoom accessibility (it’s off), updating to the latest version of the software (14.0.1), and even tried taking the cases off both my pencil and iPad. Ive tried the same things in the regular notes app and the pencil works fine. It’s almost as if the newest stroke isn’t recognized until the next stroke is made. It doesn’t register what I last wrote, so erasing is an issue because it doesn’t erase the last stroke. I’ve included some picture examples as this one is slightly confusing. what I mean by this is that when using the magnified Effect for note-taking, the Apple Pencil will draw a line wherever your pencil last was to where it is now, thinking you haven’t lifted it. Good notes 5 has some issues but the primary one is that the app is not recognizing when I’m lifting the pencil off the screen (I assume this is the problem). This seems to be the only issue in post-its. To start, I noticed in post-its that when I try to draw a series of dots in a row, some of the dots are below where they’re supposed to be, as seen in the first picture. The Pencil itself does work, however I’m noticing the accuracy in the “post-its” app is off as well as some strange things happening in good notes 5. The pencil does very specific things in certain apps that make the ease of use considerably low. Some reports suggest that gentle warming of the Pencil (such as a hot water radiator) prior to attempting charging of the Pencil can resurrect a Pencil battery.I have an issue with the Apple Pencil 2nd gen / iPad Pro. If the battery has failed and your pencil is within its one-year warranty, you should look to having it replaced by your retailer or at an Apple Store. If the Pencil Battery has failed, the only remedy is to replace the Pencil. Setting aside an unused Pencil, for extended periods, is a recipe for premature death of the Pencil battery. Do not allow a pencil to remain in low-charge state for any period of time - as the internal battery will fail, rendering the Pencil useless. It is essential that if you have an Apple Pencil that you charge it regularly - whether used or not - so as to protect the battery from deep-discharge. ![]() Even some “new” pencils can exhibit signs of failure out-of-the-box if they are “old stock”. The tiny internal Li-ion battery is susceptible to permanent/irreversible damage through being left discharged for long periods. In common with all Li-ion batteries, they must always have some level of charge. If you continue to experience difficulties, here is one of the better troubleshooting guides:ĭoes the indicated battery charge disappear or rapidly fall to zero when you undock the Pencil from your iPad? If so, it is possible that the tiny Pencil battery has failed.īe aware that if your Pencil has been set-aside for an extended period, unused and uncharged, the Pencil battery may now be irretrievably damaged through deep discharge. ![]() This support page may be helpful with pairing and use of the Pencil with your iPad:Ĭonnect Apple Pencil with your iPad - Apple Support ![]()
