MagiQuest was the unexpected star of the trip for us, though. The water park was great, there were plenty of things for our daughter to do (and cocktails in the water park itself for us!) The water slides ran the full range from baby ones with very little slope to slides that got going pretty fast. The construction outside didn't really impact us either, since we were awake before it started and went to sleep after it ended. So crowding was a complete non-issue for us. A snowstorm hit while we were there, plus it was the middle of the week as opposed to a weekend. We may have lucked out to some degree in that it wasn't as crowded as I'd imagine it can probably get. Having that separation in the room made the hotel situation much better in general. Our family recently took a trip to Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos and had an absolute blast! Our 4 year-old loved the hotel room made out to look like a lodge with the "camping area" all to herself. Also there is major construction going on and it starts early so bring a white noise machine or fan to drown it out if you are a light sleeper. There is a whole row of arcades and shops on the second floor so be aware that it is available or to avoid, whichever suits you. We did not use the restaurant there, only the Dunkin Donuts which was good. You can also do additional activities a la carte, which we did not since he is still young and just wanted the water park. There are some free planned activities for the kids. Please Great Wolf Lodge, use a public address system or some method to let your patrons know what is going on! The room was clean and comfortable, and when our supplies like coffee and TP needed replenishing all we had to do was use the app and the supplies appeared on our door in no time. During this time the staff were walking back and forth and I am sure they were asked a thousand times what was going on. This took up some of our late check out time at the park, which was disappointing. The lines were not long since it was a weekday, we probably never spent more than 15 minutes in a line for the waterpark rides, except on Friday morning when the rides were shut down without any explanation or communication from the staff (at all) for over an hour. We were lucky and at 2:00 our room was ready (at check-in), we ran to the room, dressed and spent the afternoon at the waterpark. Once we got to the lodge, we just had to scan the QR code and got our bands right away. My wife did the advance check in through the the app, preauthorized extra $$ on our account. There were three adults and one almost five year old very active boy.
