![]() ![]() :)Ĭould the player character make the offer in a way that it's acceptable to Amirah? Sure.īut the fact that she rejected the offer in the form it was made, is not really surprising to me. Her deciding very suddenly our relationship is a waste of time. Helping the local pottery barn seems like something that should have been a business opportunity instead of. It should be common knowledge that I've got a stockpile to pull from for the towns needs. You have been activly running around all voer town and the ruins collecting supplies. But have you never been in a situation where some over-eager person made you offers that really seemed inappropriate for the current state of your relationship? Where it seemed like they wanted more from the relationship than you, and you then made sure to keep your distance so they wouldn't get any ideas?Įxcept your a recognized builder, one of several that specifically is trying to help the town prosper. Partly because of the wording of the player's offer. That's how I think the situation may have looked to her. Can't say my reaction to someone being kind is to like them less. Maybe not unreasonable to reject, but the negative points for it sucked. But given her mindset, I think it wasn't unrealistic that she rejected that offer, especially in the clumsy, over-eager way the player is making it. ![]() That's probably just the game developers telling us to move on and find other ways to earn money (or make Amirah happy). Basically, slowing down the work speed doesn't directly mean you'll get more work done, it just means that you can cover more ground.Īlso, I like to sit back and think about things, develop strategies, get my priorities for the day in order, etc. However, with a slower game speed, you can make more use of that 8 hour waiting time by exploring more, and covering a longer distance in town, trying to talk to more people. Is the faster time for the people speed running beta test builds for early access looking for bugs? Are we supposed to be playing it at half speed? I don't think the game balance is affected much - for example, if it takes you 8 in-game hours to craft certain items, then that will be the same in every game speed. It also immediately makes me concerned about the game balance if its better played at half speed right at the start. Originally posted by Crystal:Playing at half speed is probably the issue. There seem to be a lot of instant fail conditions at the moment. Since there are only 2-3 spawns of Oregano, if I dont remember that or know about it in advance, it can be really frustrating to pick this quest up and immediately fail because oops I picked them already on my round trying to find water. I'm losing so much progress just trying to figure out basic interaction.Īnother issue of 'mechanics not meeting fiction' is the daily quest to pick oregano. It might have made sense for her overall backstory but when you dont know what the story is at all and try to act of kindness and immediately get slapped for it? I dont want to participate in the social game any more. Not having her hardcore background yet, the interaction clicked in my mind that I shouldnt bother interacting with her at all if I lose three days of social work with her in one comment. I'd happily make a working relationship with her trading my piles of loot for gol but cant and have been given no option to do so, just a punishment for interacting at all. So in Amirah's case, its a problem of mechanics not lining up with the fiction. ![]()
